Anesthesiology Letter from the Program Director

Welcome to South Pointe Hospital Anesthesia Residency Program web page. The anesthesia residency program is designed to accelerate the growth of our resident physicians to become successful and compassionate anesthesia consultants.

The program has received American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approval since 1970, and also received ACGME Initial Accreditation effective July 2016.

Our four-year program offers extensive opportunities to foster clinical skills and autonomy. As a smaller community based program, we strongly value teamwork and resident camaraderie. Our day-to-day cases offer a wide breadth of patient care in: general surgery, Thoracic and vascular surgery, urology, gynecologic and orthopaedic. Through our affiliations with Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, Cleveland Clinic regional hospitals, and Akron Children's Hospital, our residents gain experience with cardiac anesthesia, neuro-anesthesia, chronic pain, critical care, obstetric anesthesia, transplant anesthesia and pediatric anesthesia.

Our residents live well-rounded lives. Cleveland is an excellent place to live, and boasts many world-class attractions, including: the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Cleveland Orchestra.

Thank you for your interest. I invite you to read further to learn more about our program. Please contact our Graduate Medical Education office if you have additional questions.

Sincerely,

Martin Laskey, D.O.

Program Director
